Makna Idiom Hana dalam Perspektif Budaya Orang Jepang
Description
This study discusses the meaning of the Metaphor contained in the Japanese language
idioms. With qualitative research paradigm and the use of metaphor analysis “Knowless
and Moon” (2006), this research examines ten idioms from the data source titled
Japanese 101 Idioms. The idioms contain the element of Hana „flower". The aims of this
study are to describe the relationship betwen the literal meaning and the meaning of
metaphor and to describe the cultural perspective of Japanese people on flowers. It can
be concluded that Japanese consider flower as a symbol of perfection, beauty and
goodness.
