Description

F(a)it on Track” is an educational comic that explores the role of fat in the human body, challenging the idea that fat is necessarily something negative. Through a dynamic and accessible visual approach, it explains the essential functions of fat cells in different organisms, highlighting their importance in energy storage, body protection, and metabolic balance.

Built around a wordplay between Fit and Fat, the story also addresses the growing global obesity challenge, explaining in a simple and engaging way why excess fat accumulates, how it can affect health, and how healthier lifestyles may help prevent obesity-related complications. Along the way, it subtly explores the connections between human evolution, changes in dietary habits over time — including food cooking and domestication — and possible biological adaptations that may influence how the body stores and uses fat.

Originally designed for young adults, this comic was developed to be accessible to a broad audience, ranging from adolescents to adults of different ages, while promoting health literacy through the combination of science, storytelling, and illustration.
