The Pattern of Science: Erasure and Attribution Across Nine Domains

Description

Article 7 — The Pattern of Science: Erasure and Attribution Across Nine Domains

This article documents a recurring pattern in the history and practice of science: the adoption of knowledge from non-Western sources, followed by renaming and erasure of original attribution. The pattern is traced across nine domains: Māori cosmology and the Big Bang; Māori nomenclature for subatomic particles; ngā kete o te wānanga and the scientific method; Ethiopian biblical tradition; vodou poppets as non-textual medical records; acupuncture and dry needling; ancient spinal manipulation and chiropractic; Chinese solar panel technology dismissed, purchased, and rebranded; and AI gatekeeping as a modern institutional form of erasure.

The theoretical framework is the Insight Paradigm and the Triadic Cycle of Calibration, which distinguish between abacus science (3-6-9: forward expansion without return) and calibration science (7-8-9 forward, 9-8-7 back: buffer, spark, bond, return). Attribution is the return cycle. A system without a return cycle cannot cite its sources.

Falsifiable hypotheses are specified. Counter-evidence is evaluated. The pattern correlates with power asymmetries. The article concludes that the pattern of erasure is not accidental. It is structural. Attribution restoration is proposed as an epistemic corrective.
