"description": "The QUANTUM Data Quality Labelling Tool is a key component of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) initiative, designed to address the challenge of ensuring that health datasets are of high quality, accessible, and interoperable across EU member states. As healthcare data plays an increasingly vital role in research, policy, and innovation, this tool provides a standardized mechanism to evaluate and label the quality, utility, and maturity of datasets, supporting stakeholders such as healthcare institutions, research organizations, and policymakers.\n\nThe QUANTUM Labelling Tool primarily operates as a standalone application for collecting DQ&U and maturity evaluations. The tool does not connect to external APIs or third-party systems for automated data exchange. Consequently, the use of the Interoperability Test Bed is not directly applicable. Interoperability is ensured by using standard semantic representations (e.g., RDF and DQV) to export evaluation results.",

They will also enable researchers to use data with a notion of quality and utility that will ensure that their research and innovations are effective and provide value to society.
\n
This will follow the standards of Article 78 of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) Regulation proposal, which mandates labelling health datasets within the EU to show their quality and usefulness. This initiative promotes transparency and trust in health data sharing across the EU for secondary purposes, benefiting research, innovation and healthcare systems.
\n
The challenge: Differences in data quality, standards and interoperability
\n
Different EU countries and health data actors collect and store health data in various ways. This makes it hard to create a uniform system that ensures all data is of high quality and meets the standards set by the European Health Data Space (EHDS) regulations. Similarly, the technology used to manage and share health data varies between countries and organizations, which makes it difficult for different systems to work together seamlessly.
\n
Our mission: Data you can trust
\n
QUANTUM focuses on making health data more reliable and valuable. The QUANTUM labelling mechanism will ensure that data meets high standards and that EU harmonisation of health datasets is achieved. This will translate into more reliable outcomes for research and scientific health advancements.
",

The community is managed by CERN on behalf of the European Commission.
\n
Mission
\n
The mission of the repository is to support the implementation of the EU's open science policy, providing a trusted and comprehensive space for researchers to share their research outputs such as data, software, reports, presentations, posters and more. The EU Open Research Repository simplifies the process of complying with open science requirements, ensuring that research outputs from Horizon Europe, Euratom, and earlier Framework Programmes are freely accessible, thereby accelerating scientific discovery and innovation.
\n
EU Open Research Repository vs Open Research Europe (ORE)
\n
The EU Open Research Repository serves as a complementary platform to the Open Research Europe (ORE) publishing platform. Open Research Europe focuses on providing a publishing venue for peer-reviewed articles, ensuring that research meets rigorous academic standards. The EU Open Research Repository provides a space for all the other research outputs including data sets, software, posters, and presentations that are out of scope for ORE. This holistic approach enables researchers to not only publish their findings but also share the underlying data and materials that support their work, fostering transparency and reproducibility in the scientific process.
\n
Funding
\n
The EU Open Research Repository is funded by the European Union under grant agreement no. 101256740 (HORIZON-ZEN Plus).
