F82H steel EBSD with patterns
Description
Data is an electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) scan of F82H steel with the patterns saved for re-indexing analysis. The total area scanned is 543.2µm x 408.8µm, with a step size of 0.2µm per pixel. Each diffraction pattern measures 156 x 128 pixels. The full dataset is not included for storage size concerns, but several subsets of the full data set are included to provide smaller data file sizes for software development. Also included is the dynamical EBSD simulation file required to fit the patterns for the experimental conditions used in this dataset.
Material is F82H steel, with composition of approximately 8 wt% Cr, 2% W, 0.2% V, 0.04% Ta, 0.1% C, 0.15% Si, with the balance being Fe. The steel was austenitized at 1040°C for 2 hours, water quenched, and tempered at 750°C for 1 hour. Standard metallographic procedures were used to prepare the sample for EBSD.
Data was collected in Oxford AZtec® software (version 6.2), and pattern fitting and refinement was performed in Oxford AZtecCrystal software (version 3.3). The resulting .h5oina files can be opened in Oxford AZtecCrystal or used in a variety of open source EBSD analysis programs.
