[00:00] Moderator: say it during the experiment is not an issue because we can take some little breaks in between the tasks.
[00:09] Moderator: So, yeah.
[00:12] Moderator: Yeah.
[00:12] Moderator: So, of course, yeah, as you see, like, we're going to, like, have all these sensors and we're going to get this data.
[00:20] Moderator: First of all, oh, yeah, I forgot to ask, if you didn't sign the consent form, I have them outside.
[00:26] Moderator: Do you sign them?

[00:27] Sub-026 (P4): I don't think so.

[00:29] Sub-028 (P2): What was it?

[00:31] Moderator: It's, wait, let me show you.

[00:37] Sub-026 (P4): Kind of like this.

[00:56] Moderator: Also during the tasks you will have to respond to some probes, so I want you to be familiar with what balance arousal and dominance mean, so that during the task you know how to respond.
[01:13] Moderator: So, violence refers to how pleasant or unpleasant you feel, kind of like happiness, sadness.
[01:19] Moderator: Instead, arousal is more like your alertness, so like it's more what you feel like in your chest.
[01:25] Moderator: And dominance is just how much you feel like you're overpowered by other people or how much influences that you're having on them, like you're kind of dominating the conversation.
[01:37] Moderator: so you're gonna have this periodically during the tasks of course don't let it disrupt your conversation if you see it on your tablet and you have time to respond just send the responses in and then also at the end of each task you will answer a post task questionnaire uh okay
[02:12] Moderator: So it's just a kind of longer questionnaire that you have to answer, but I will instruct and you have to do it.
[02:22] Moderator: I think the Wi-Fi is a bit slow today, but we'll try to get going.
[02:34] Moderator: So the first thing is going to be just an introduction conversation, just like a free talk to introduce each other and just get accustomed to it.

[02:49] Sub-026 (P4): Just let me see if the Wi-Fi is collaborating because it feels like it's not.

[02:54] Moderator: Wait a second.
[02:56] Moderator: It doesn't send.
[02:57] Moderator: I feel like there's an issue with the connection.

[02:59] Sub-026 (P4): You see?

[03:09] Moderator: Sorry.

[03:11] Sub-027 (P1): it's going it seems oh yeah we have the timer yeah just started so uh you need to look at those points i will just tell you okay so name by name by name and uh and i will tell you when it's finished okay

[03:13] Sub-025 (P3): Oh, yeah.

[03:13] Sub-026 (P4): Oh, yeah.

[03:17] Sub-025 (P3): yeah just started so you need to look at those points i will just tell you oh okay so name by name by name and uh and i will tell you when it's finished

[03:21] Moderator: You need to look at those points.

[03:30] Sub-026 (P4): I will just tell you name by name and I will tell you when it's finished.

[03:45] Sub-028 (P2): But hers, yes?

[03:47] Moderator: When she tells you to do it.

[03:49] Sub-026 (P4): In the meantime, you can just introduce yourself briefly.

[03:54] Sub-028 (P2): Hello, everyone.

[03:55] Sub-026 (P4): Hello.

[03:57] Sub-028 (P2): Nice to meet you all.
[03:59] Sub-028 (P2): A little bit about myself.
[04:02] Sub-028 (P2): I'm currently a master's student at ITU in Copenhagen.
[04:06] Sub-028 (P2): I study data science.
[04:07] Sub-028 (P2): And what I'm doing here, I'm just doing my master thesis in collaboration with GN.
[04:13] Sub-028 (P2): So hang out here a couple of days a week.
[04:16] Sub-028 (P2): That's about it.

[04:17] Sub-026 (P4): Cool.

[04:19] Sub-025 (P3): I go?
[04:20] Sub-025 (P3): Okay.
[04:21] Sub-025 (P3): Hi, I am Diana.
[04:22] Sub-025 (P3): I work in GN Hearing, specifically with Danalogic, which is an NHS brand in the UK, and with Cochlea and the Smart Hearing Alliance.
[04:37] Sub-025 (P3): I'm not sure if you heard about it.
[04:40] Sub-025 (P3): Yeah, because you're not in...
[04:42] Sub-025 (P3): Cochlea is like a cochlea implant.
[04:44] Sub-025 (P3): So with our hearing aids, you can have like a bimodal connection.
[04:47] Sub-025 (P3): So then who has a cochlea implant can benefit from like connection to their phone as well, just hear overall better and a lot of other benefits.
[04:57] Sub-025 (P3): Yeah, so this is about me.

[04:58] Sub-026 (P4): Yeah.
[05:00] Sub-026 (P4): I'm Erwin.
[05:03] Sub-026 (P4): I'm an audiologist by training.
[05:05] Sub-026 (P4): I joined here in December, so I'm still quite new.
[05:08] Sub-026 (P4): And I work primarily in development with user testing.
[05:12] Sub-026 (P4): So people who do wear hearing aids, we do real life testing with them.

[05:18] Sub-027 (P1): I'm RJ.
[05:19] Sub-027 (P1): I'm a machine learning engineer.
[05:22] Sub-027 (P1): I've been with GN for almost five years now.
[05:24] Sub-027 (P1): I joined in the U.S. at our hearing aid repair center in Minnesota, which is where I grew up.
[05:31] Sub-027 (P1): And then I moved out here about a year and a half ago.
[05:34] Sub-027 (P1): So yeah, I switched from operations to R&D.

[05:36] Sub-026 (P4): Cool.
[05:38] Sub-026 (P4): Can I now ask you to look at those points?
[05:41] Sub-026 (P4): Because otherwise we will not be able to hear you.

[06:04] Moderator: RJ.

[06:22] Sub-026 (P4): Okay, thank you.

[06:45] Moderator: Sorry, I think today there is an issue with the connection, so some tablets are offline.

[06:52] Sub-025 (P3): Oh, mine is off.

[07:03] Moderator: No worries.

[07:04] Sub-025 (P3): no worries i think like yesterday as well there's a issue when we're watching the town hall we broke the internet okay so still having

[07:15] Sub-027 (P1): Okay, so...

[07:19] Moderator: Okay, so still ready.

[07:26] Sub-028 (P2): Okay, so we still have another three offline and another one.

[07:30] Moderator: Still having...
[07:32] Moderator: Number 3 offline and number 4.
[07:34] Moderator: No, some of them are good enough.

[08:18] Sub-028 (P2): It's a software update, maybe.

[08:18] Sub-026 (P4): Yeah, just keep that one.

[08:33] Moderator: Oh, God.
[08:34] Moderator: Yeah, it's still broken, probably.
[08:38] Moderator: That's it.
[08:40] Moderator: I think it was updated, I mean, with Vicon and... Oh yeah, do you think that is the issue?

[08:58] Sub-025 (P3): The day we are not with our supervisor, it's been all good.

[09:02] Sub-026 (P4): Of course.

[09:03] Sub-025 (P3): Of course.

[09:05] Moderator: Like he was going all perfectly.

[09:10] Sub-025 (P3): I mean, I guess we can hotspot with our phones.

[09:26] Moderator: The problem is that everything has to be connected to the same Wi-Fi in order for all the data streams to be registered for LSL.
[09:37] Moderator: And we have a router, but apparently this router is not serving the way we need today.
[09:55] Moderator: How was it?
[09:55] Moderator: Like all of them disconnected?
[09:57] Moderator: Not all of them.

[09:57] Sub-025 (P3): No, this one is.

[09:59] Moderator: That one is.

[10:05] Sub-025 (P3): For a brief moment, there was like asking me about my balance and arousal, but then it disappeared.
[10:12] Sub-025 (P3): You will think this is the task we have to solve.

[10:39] Sub-026 (P4): my Wi-Fi symbol has like an exclamation point okay okay

[10:50] Moderator: Sorry for that, but... Yeah, sorry.

[10:58] Sub-026 (P4): Oh, first of the day, yes.

[11:00] Moderator: And I think Maysam might have made some changes yesterday with Viking.

[11:05] Sub-026 (P4): Typical.
[11:09] Sub-026 (P4): Welcome to development.
[11:23] Sub-026 (P4): Which tablets are these?
[11:24] Sub-026 (P4): I've never seen... Small tablets.
[11:27] Sub-026 (P4): From Samsung.

[11:29] Moderator: They're just a bit bigger than a phone.

[11:35] Sub-025 (P3): But I figured they'd be... Just a bit bigger.

[11:39] Sub-026 (P4): A bit.

[11:40] Sub-027 (P1): No, but you're right.

[11:44] Sub-026 (P4): Yeah.

[11:45] Sub-028 (P2): I mean, you're not wrong.

[11:47] Sub-027 (P1): Screens have gotten big.

[11:52] Sub-025 (P3): With the clean tablets you cannot really do.

[12:01] Moderator: Say.
[12:02] Moderator: Disconnecting.

[12:05] Sub-025 (P3): No good.

[12:23] Sub-028 (P2): What sort of R&D do you do, if you don't mind me asking?

[12:27] Sub-027 (P1): I'm in research and technology.
[12:31] Sub-027 (P1): We have a master's student on our team named Marcus.

[12:37] Sub-028 (P2): No, I think there's a lot of students here.

[12:39] Sub-027 (P1): I do think so, too.
[12:42] Sub-027 (P1): When I joined, we kind of just work on anything.
[12:47] Sub-027 (P1): We do everything that's before D0.
[12:51] Sub-027 (P1): Does that mean anything to you?

[12:52] Sub-028 (P2): Sadly, no.

[12:53] Sub-026 (P4): I'm very much still in the academic mindset.

[12:55] Sub-027 (P1): So with our development process, D0 is the first gate for it becoming an official project.
[13:02] Sub-027 (P1): Anything before that is just exploration.
[13:04] Sub-027 (P1): Anything after that has significantly more bureaucracy involved and management.
[13:11] Sub-027 (P1): So I get to sit in that really fun space of just like strict exploration.
[13:17] Sub-027 (P1): And like a successful project for us is something that we pitch to become an actual development initiative.
[13:24] Sub-027 (P1): Yeah.
[13:27] Sub-027 (P1): My first project here was taking microscope pictures of clogged microphones on our hearing aids and assessing exactly how gross it was, exactly how clogged it was, because that was a big thing for product quality teams.
[13:44] Sub-027 (P1): When they get it back, they take a look, like, how clogged did this get?
[13:49] Sub-027 (P1): and they were really inconsistent especially at saying like moderate they could say good or bad pretty well but moderate what does moderate mean so yeah built a tool that was able to more efficiently and accurately read that which is pretty cool based on the microscopic
[14:10] Sub-027 (P1): Yeah, because the microphone ports are only like a millimeter wide and kind of dark.
[14:15] Sub-027 (P1): So you need a microscope to see in there regardless.
[14:18] Sub-027 (P1): And most of the stations that we have equipped for doing that have a camera in the microscope.
[14:23] Sub-027 (P1): So might as well just take the picture.
[14:26] Sub-027 (P1): Yeah.
[14:28] Sub-027 (P1): Uh, but the latest project I've been working on is for enterprise actually, um, which is trying to see if we can use a motion sensor.
[14:35] Sub-027 (P1): Like I'm, I'm guessing they have in here.
[14:38] Sub-027 (P1): Um, but the one that we have in the headset to authenticate you to like tell, see if we can recognize your unique movement patterns.
[14:47] Sub-027 (P1): Um, that one's still ongoing.

[14:50] Sub-025 (P3): I don't know the answer.

[14:51] Sub-027 (P1): My job is to figure out if we can or cannot.

[14:54] Sub-025 (P3): Yeah.

[14:55] Sub-027 (P1): So, yeah.

[14:55] Sub-026 (P4): Yeah.

[14:57] Sub-025 (P3): Very cool.

[14:57] Sub-028 (P2): That's some cutting-edge shit right there.
