LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN HIGHER EDUCATION: EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION THROUGH PEDAGOGICAL DESIGN AND INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT
Description
Learning Management Systems (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, Google Classroom) provide essential infrastructure in higher education. However, technological capabilities alone do not ensure improved outcomes. Effective LMS implementation requires pedagogical design, faculty development, and institutional support. Institutions embedding systems within comprehensive strategies achieve substantial benefits, while those viewing LMS as merely technology adoption experience disappointing results. This review establishes that LMS function most effectively as enabling tools within holistic approaches combining technology, human development, and pedagogical excellence.
