WP2 - Storage complexes geomechanical datasets: Lusitanian basin, Portugal
Authors/Creators
Description
The database compiles all geo mechanical data produced to work-package WP2 of the project PilotSTRATEGY, for the Portuguese Lusitanian Basin potential storage complexes. Two possible candidates emerged from previous works: the Triassic and lowermost Jurassic formations located onshore, and the Cretaceous formations located offshore.
Due to the unavailability of samples from drill cores, outcrop analogues were studied at the Department of Geosciences (University of Evora) laboratories.
The studied samples are: Triassic reservoir (ARS-19; ARS-20;ARS-22; CC-CV-4); Cretaceous and Upper Jurassic reservoir (CD-ARN-14; PAJ-29); and Cretaceous seal (RNA-16; FR-SIB-26). (More details on the geological setting can be found at Pereira et al (2021).
The representative samples were tested by P-wave velocity determination (following the British Standard BS 1881 Part 203), Point Load (standard ASTM D 5731-95 of ASTM International) and Schmidt Hammer .
