The Role of Digital Technologies in Education: A Review

Digital technology plays a significant role in modern life. Due to these digital technologies, the entire educational system has changed. During the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the questions that arose in mind was how to connect students and teachers in one place. Digital technology was the best way to connect students and teachers in that situation. During COVID-19 educational institutions were bound to online learning at home. The present research attempts to study the role of digital technology in education and its effect on education. The study describes the features of digital technology in education and challenges for digital education. The present study has been based on secondary data. Secondary data has been collected from websites. Present study identified features of digital classroom such as, Interactive tools Interactive Learning, Learning Management Systems, Personalized Learning, Collaboration Tools etc. Further, study explained challenges of digital technologies in education. Present research paper concludes that, Digital technology in education system refers to various software and apps meant to help students into their learning with actual accessibility needs.  Through digital learning student can learn at home or any place. Moreover, major challenges of digital technologies in education are insufficent fund, lack of professional training, poor network infrastructure and administrators’ lack of awareness.
