Software Heritage collects publicly available source code from numerous software projects and tracks their ongoing development.
\nIn an era dominated by software forges, control over source code has become a matter of scientific and digital sovereignty. Software now underpins nearly every stage of research, from data collection and simulation to analysis and validation. When source code is unavailable, unstable, or lost, scientific results become harder to verify, reproduce, and build upon.
\nPreserving source code ensures that research remains understandable, reproducible, and reusable over time.

This collection contains material mainly produced by the Software Heritage team, project partners, and community members.
\nThis is a collection of resources about Software Heritage and its related projects. Its scope is not the same as the archive (i.e. the library of source code).
\nIn case of a direct submission, i.e., a user may submit a record directly to the Software Heritage Community: the submission will be moderated by the Software Heritage Community curator, for compliance with the minimal required metadata requirements and its correctness.
\nIn case of indirect as well as direct submission:
\nVisibility: Both public and restricted access are possible
\nResource types: All resource types, except videos
\nSubmissions must use an open license; if you are not sure, use Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.
\nCreators with an academic background SHOULD be identified with a persistent identifier (e.g., ORCID, GND, …), and when accurate, affiliations SHOULD be identified with a persistent identifier (e.g., ROR, ISNI, …)
\nCommunity curators may at any point edit metadata of the records in the community without notice through human or automated processing. The curators may, at their sole discretion, remove records from the community that are deemed not to comply with the content and curation policy or that are deemed of insufficient quality.
\nZenodo’s general policies and Terms of Use apply to all content.
