Description
The question this study addressed. This study retrospectively analyzed 67 PFT cases operated over 6.5 years at Yaoundé General Hospital, describing their epidemiological, clinical, histological and therapeutic profile.
What this study adds to our knowledge. It reveals that PFTs account for 12.8% of intracranial tumors in Cameroon. In children, pilocytic astrocytoma (37.9%) and medulloblastoma (35.1%) predominate; in adults, meningioma (30.0%). Complete resection reaches 92.5%, but access to radiotherapy and chemotherapy remains limited, compromising prognosis.
