  "description": "<p>La colección de malacología médica del el Instituto de Medicina Tropical &#34;Pedro Kourí&#34; (IPK)  reúne especímenes \nrepresentativos de moluscos con relevancia medica y veterinaria.Esta colección incluye ejemplares preservados de diversas especies, \nrecopilados para el estudio taxonómico, ecológico y epidemiológico de \nmoluscos que actúan como hospederos de parásitos.La identificación taxonómica de estas especies se realiza mediante \nestudios morfológicos  apoyados en la &#34;Clave \nilustrada y comentada para la identificación de moluscos gastrópodos \nfluviales de Cuba&#34; desarrollada en el propio laboratorio de Malacología \ndel IPK.Esta clave dicotómica facilita la identificación precisa de las especies presentes en la colección, tomando en cuenta variaciones \nmorfológicas, ornamentación y coloración de conchas. Además la identificación de otras especies de moluscos terrestres y marinos se complementa con claves de identificación y bibliografia existente. La colección es \nfundamental para la investigación epidemiológica y el desarrollo de \nestrategias de control de vectores en  el país.</p>",
