Description

Issue 2 highlights how CLMS‑Cities transforms Copernicus, third‑party, and municipal datasets into harmonized, model‑ready inputs for high‑resolution CO₂ emission modelling. It outlines the preprocessing workflow, sectoral data steps, and the modular structure enabling consistent outputs across cities.
The issue also presents key insights from the Vitoria‑Gasteiz workshop and a survey of 52 Mission Cities, showing strong demand for interoperable tools, harmonised methods, flexible reporting, and high‑resolution spatial and temporal data.
Finally, it explains how this feedback is shaping CLMS‑Cities: improving usability, data integration, sector coverage, and workflow automation to support more consistent emissions inventories. Recent project activities across Europe reinforce the project’s commitment to helping cities track emissions and progress toward climate neutrality.
