THE ROLE OF CREATIVE AND PARTICIPATORY METHODS IN ENHANCING COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDUCATION

This paper examines the effectiveness of creative and participatory learning methods in English language education, with a particular focus on role-play activities, collaborative writing techniques, film-based dialogue creation, and game-oriented instruction. These approaches are designed to enhance learners’ communicative competence, critical thinking, and social interaction skills by engaging them in meaningful, real-life contexts. Special attention is given to activity-based instruction, which supports language acquisition through interaction, creativity, and experiential learning rather than passive memorization. The study also highlights the role of group work and civic-oriented learning practices in fostering learner autonomy, motivation, and responsibility. Overall, the integration of modern teaching strategies contributes to improved language proficiency, increased confidence, and long-term retention, making English learning more effective and engaging across different educational levels.
