Service and Resource Management Enablers for 6G Networks
Description
Next generation networks will contain mechanisms at various levels to optimize the resource allocation needed for improved service management. At the same time, these mechanisms introduce their own set of challenges. Specifically, future 6G networks need enabler technologies to handle an unprecedented number of heterogeneous slices under stringent Service Level Agreements, necessitating advanced zero-touch Management and Orchestration, ensuring cloud-to-edge continuum and the management of heavily dynamic environments like Non-Terrestrial Networks. In this paper, we overview these emerging challenges and show key enablers developed in various SNS JU projects for handling them. By harmonizing these technologies, 6G networks can achieve intelligent, scalable, and sustainable orchestration in diverse and rapidly evolving environments.
