Reincarnate D3.1 – Circular decision-making for adaptive refurbishment and renovation of real estate assets.
Creators
Description
This report presents a structured decision-making framework to guide asset managers and building owners through adaptive refurbishment and renovation choices. Developed within the Reincarnate project, the framework uses circular adaptive-reuse scenarios and operates at three levels:
-
establishing the initial intervention direction,
-
developing and choosing between reuse scenarios,
-
identifying End-of-Life strategies for building products.
The report responds to challenges of functional obsolescence by integrating circular-economy principles with a stepwise process. While currently theoretical, the framework will be validated through practical demonstrations. It aims to support more sustainable interventions, reduce construction and demolition waste, and extend building lifespans.
