A new record of Oreocryptophis porphyraceus (Cantor, 1839) (Squamata, Colubridae) from Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve, Vietnam

Description
This paper provides a new provincial record of Oreocryptophis porphyraceus (Cantor, 1839), Black-banded Trinket Snake, from the evergreen forests of Teo village, Muong Ham Commune, Nghe An Province, Vietnam. Morphological characteristics of the collected specimen were described and an assessment of potential threats to the species at this locality. This constitutes the first documented occurrence of O. porphyraceus in Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve, Nghe An Province.
