Empowerment of Schedule Tribe Women through Decentralization of Power in Beed District
Description
This study explores how decentralization of power impacts the empowerment of Scheduled Tribe (ST) women in Beed district, Maharashtra. It examines mechanisms of local governance, participation in decision-making, access to resources, and socio-economic outcomes. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research analyzes institutional structures, women’s leadership trajectories, and community-level changes over time. Findings indicate that decentralized governance can enhance agency, improve service delivery, and foster social inclusion when accompanied by capacity-building, gender-sensitive planning, and accountable institutions.
