Advancing Open Science at IRTA: A Case Study of Capacity Building and FAIR Data Implementation
Authors/Creators
Description
This poster presents case study IRTA’s strategic implementation of Open Science practices, supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science and
Innovation under the María de Guzmán call (2023). It offers a practical example of how to implement an Open Science research culture. IRTA (Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology) is a public research institute composed by 999 professionals (177 senior researchers and 94 early-career scientists) spread across 10 main research centers throughout Catalonia, Spain. This geographical and thematic diversity presents both a strength and a key challenge: how to reach and engage all researchers in adoption of Open Science practices across varied disciplines, infrastructures, and workflows. To ensure broad participation, IRTA implemented a comprehensive capacity building
strategy aimed at enhancing institutional understanding and adoption of Open Science.
