# Road Access Deprivation Modelled Dataset in Lagos, Nigeria

The outputs are also visualised on the [IDEAMAP platform](https://www.ideamapsdataecosystem.org/)

## Overview

The dataset maps the **degree of road access deprivation**—a spatial proxy for urban deprivation—based on the built environment structure.
It classifies every **100×100 m grid cell** into one of three categories:

- **0 – Low Informality:** The road network is paved and in good condition. The majority of buildings in these areas are directly connected to motorable roads.
- **1 – Medium Informality:** Roads are unpaved but motorable. Most buildings are directly connected to roads, meaning no buildings block their access to the road network.
- **2 – High Informality:** Motorable roads are sparse. Most buildings have only indirect access to the road network via paths, meaning more than one building is generally located between a building and its nearest road.
