Maslow7F: A 7x7 Fractal Theory of Systemic Coherence and Motivation
Description
This paper introduces Maslow7F, a fractal extension of Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs that transforms the classic psychological model into a universal, operational metatheory of systemic coherence. While the preceding MaslowF (5x5) model established the fractal nature of needs, Maslow7F expands the framework to a 7x7 matrix by incorporating two new levels: Transcendence (L6), representing the drive for contribution and legacy, and Meta-Transcendence (L7), the system's capacity for reflexive self-awareness. The model defines a fractal architecture of 49 interdependent nodes ("49-string harp") where each of the seven primary levels of systemic equilibrium - Existence, Safety, Belonging, Esteem, Self-Actualization, Transcendence, and Meta-Transcendence - contains a complete, recursive hierarchy. This structure makes Maslow7F applicable to any complex adaptive system, from individuals to artificial intelligences. By integrating this map with an operational framework - including the recursive Pareto Cube methodology and the N_opt rule for causal analysis (A. Stan, 2025) - this paper presents a quantitative and qualitative diagnostic tool. It provides a unified language and a rigorous, mathematically verifiable process for identifying the Dominant Dissonant Chord (DDC), the critical root-cause of imbalance within any living system. Through seven detailed case studies, the paper demonstrates the model's universal applicability. The paper concludes that Maslow7F provides not merely a motivational theory, but a practical, falsifiable framework for measuring and enhancing systemic maturity, thereby bridging psychology, systems theory, and strategic action.
Dedicated to my son, Alex, on his 22nd birthday - so that his path to personal meta-transcendence may be uninterrupted.
