Effect of Insufficient Information and Communication Technology Resources on Curriculum Implementation in Lafia Education Zone

Description

The integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is central to achieving curriculum objectives in secondary schools; however, many Nigerian schools face challenges due to inadequate resources. This study examined the effect of insufficient ICT resources on curriculum implementation in Lafia Education Zone, Nasarawa State. A descriptive survey design was employed, and proportionate stratified random sampling was used to select 144 teachers from a population of 1,440 across nine government-owned secondary schools. Data were collected using a 15-item researcher-developed questionnaire structured on a 4-point scale, with a reliability coefficient of 0.72 established through Cronbach's Alpha. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer research questions, while a t-test was applied to test the hypothesis at the 0.05 significance level. Findings revealed that insufficient ICT resources hinder effective curriculum implementation by limiting teachers’ instructional delivery, reducing student engagement, and restricting the acquisition of digital literacy skills.
