The Use of Cell Phones and Its Impact on the Learning Process
Description
Given the recurring use of cell phones by students in educational spaces, including inside classrooms during class hours, and based on the teaching experience in which this is considered a factor of distraction and dependence that negatively affects the learning process, this research paper aims to identify the impact of these devices on students in five first-year groups at the Guasave Day Preparatory Academic Unit of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa.
The study is considered from the perspective not only of the students themselves, but also of their parents and the teachers who work with them during the school year and who are involved in this type of situation in one way or another.
Specifically, it seeks to determine how much time they spend using cell phones both inside and outside the classroom, how much of that time is devoted to academic purposes, and the relationship between the use of such devices and their academic performance.
One of the hypotheses is that the inappropriate use of these tools affects their learning, based on daily experience in the classroom when recording assessments.
