Formation factor (FORM_FACT)

Formation factor of split sediment core determined from the ratio of electrical conductivity measurements of seawater and wet sediment corrected for temperature and salinity. Measured using a Metrohm 712 conductometer.

    Offset (cm): position of the observation made, measured relative to the top of a section.
    Depth CSF-A (m): location of the observation expressed relative to the top of a hole.
    Depth [other] (m): location of the observation expressed relative to the top of a hole. The location is presented in a scale selected by the science party or the report user.
    Formation factor: the ratio of seawater conductivity to wet sediment conductivity.
    Calibration cell: the calibration cell.
    Orientation: the orientation of two in-line electrods relative to the split-core face. In either a y or z orientation.
    Seawater conductivity (uS/cM): seawater conductivity adjusted for temperature.
    Seawater temperature (deg C): temperature of seawater paired with seawater conductivity.
    Sediment conductivity (uS/cM): sediment conductivity adjusted for temperature.
    Sediment temperature (deg C): temperature of wet sediment paired with sediment conductivity.
    Data filename: raw data filename.
    Timestamp (UTC): date and time the observation was made.
    Text ID: automatically generated unique database identifier for a sample, visible on printed labels.
    Test No: unique number associated with the instrument measurement steps that produced these data. 
    Sample comments: observations recorded about the sample itself.
    Test comments: observations about a measurement or the measurement process; some measurement observations may be under Result comments.
