  • 1. University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Republic of Uzbekistan

Description

The study aimed to conduct a comparative analysis of key trends, patterns and problematic aspects of international legal cooperation of Central Asian countries in the field of climate change to develop practical recommendations for improving the effectiveness of regional cooperation in the environmental sphere. The study was based on a comparative analysis of international legal cooperation in the field of climate change in five Central Asian countries: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. The study determined that the main challenges to the expansion of cooperation are the asymmetric development of national economies, the lack of unified standards for reporting greenhouse gas emissions and a significant dependence on international funding. According to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in 2022, the total amount of funding for green projects in Central Asia exceeded 420 million USD, indicating significant potential for further development of regional cooperation in the field of climate change.
