Human Experience in Regulated Offices (HERO) dataset
Description
Summary
The Human Experience in Regulated Offices (HERO) dataset is multimodal dataset collection of physiological, environmental, behavioral, and perceptual measures during realistic office‑like activities in controlled indoor exposure. Twenty‑four participants completed standardized work tasks while wearing an EmotiBit sensor suite that recorded continuous physiological signals—including electrodermal activity, photoplethysmography, skin temperature, and three‑axis motion—providing rich insight into autonomic and motor responses. Although environmental measurements (ambient temperature, humidity) and perception surveys (baseline and task‑specific ratings) are planned for future releases, the current release captures two experimental conditions: a high‑temperature session and a low‑temperature session, enabling direct comparison of physiological dynamics across thermal extremes. By linking fine‑grained biometric data with controlled task performance, HERO supports research in affective computing, thermal comfort modeling, and adaptive building control, laying groundwork for data‑driven strategies that enhance occupant well‑being and productivity in climate‑responsive office spaces.
