Sul ruolo del bambino nella costruzione della pace nella visione di Maria Montessori
Authors/Creators
Description
Maria Montessori likened peace building to a revolution in society in which children play a prominent role. Indeed, she observed the special potential of the child’s mind, which would enrich social life if taken into account by the adult. Unfortunately, the latter harbours many prejudices against childhood that affect the educational relationship, which, Maria Montessori advocated, should be disarmed. This contribution analyses the potential of an environment that enables children to learn peace through peace in everyday life. Maria Montessori’s unique understanding of the child’s “voice” is emphasised, based on some of her experiences during her time in India.
