METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Documents published in Poland as well as documents written by Polish authors about fencing were included. Articles, books, chapters, Bachelor thesis, Master thesis and PhD dissertations were included. Data mining was performed in April 2025. It was mainly developed in the database of the Polish National Library (Polish National Library). Data was also extracted from the Academies of Physical Education (AWF) database (https://awf.gda.pl/biblioteka/zasoby-online/bazy-awf-ow/). Additionally, private collections or libraries of authors were consulted, such as those ones of Dr. Gabriel Szajna and Mr. Łukasz Majewski from Warsaw.

Information extracted in data mining was compiled in a Word file and adapted to APA 7ed. reference style. All authors participated in data collection and data curation.
