Trajectory-Based Dust Evolution in Disks: First Results from the RAPID simulation code
Description
This dataset contains simulation output from the RAPID model for the project ``RAPID: A Trajectory-Based Representative Particle Model for Dust Accumulation in Protoplanetary Disks ``, focusing on the evolution of gas surface density and the trajectories of representative dust particles in protoplanetary disks.
The data is organized hierarchically. The output of each set of parameters (α-pamater, α reduction, the width of the inner/outer pressure bump [Δrdze,i/o], and gas surface density profile exponent [p]) is located in a distinct directory.
Within each directory, the following data files can be found, with a suffix indicating the fragmentation velocity ufrag:
-
density_profile_[time_in_years].dat: Contains time-series data of the gas surface density profiles, pressure and pressure gradient, showing the evolution of gaseous material. -
dust_particle_evolution_ufrag[value].dat: Contains the time evolution of individual representative dust particles. For each time step, the data includes the particle's unique identification (ID) and its distance from the central star. It is important to note that particles that have exited the computational domain are no longer included in this file. -
config/: The directory contains configuration files used for the specific simulation run, documenting the exact parameters (i.e.,disk_config.dat,initial_dust_profile.dat, andinitial_gas_profile.dat).
The data provided was generated using a beta version of the RAPID simulation code. Consequently, there may be minor format discrepancies or output variations compared to results obtained from the most current or official release version of the code.
All data is compressed into ZIP archives, organized by alpha (α-parameter) and alphared (α reduction) values for easier download and management, i.e., simulation_data_alpha_[alpha_val]_alphared_[alpha_red_val].zip.
