sdOB Stars in Hierarchical Triples: the Properties of Outer Tertiaries
Description
Observations of young ≈1 solar mass main-sequence stars in clusters indicate a binary fraction of 30% and a triple fraction of 10%. Moreover, hierarchical triple systems typically boast tighter orbits in the inner binaries than their isolated binary counterparts. As such, triple systems are almost equally as likely as isolated binaries to interact. In this talk I present new results pertaining to the observable properties of sdOB stars formed from hierarchical triple systems. I particularly focus on characterising the properties of systems with bound outer tertiaries to provide robust predictions of how such systems can be observed.
