Science Europe Annual Report 2024

Science Europe made excellent progress on its priorities in 2024, delivering key outputs and driving developments in various research policy areas. This report highlights the activities and achievements of the association during that year.

International collaboration and the global role of Europe were important topics throughout 2024, being addressed at the High Level Workshop on cohesion and competitiveness, in a new workshop series on collaboration with other world regions, and during its event at the Science Summit during the UN General Assembly.

The importance of science communication and the need to include and support it from the outset of research programmes were highlighted at a very successful high-level conference dedicated to the topic, which we co-organised in Brussels with FWO, FNRS, and ETAG.

In addition, we also delivered very timely and important outputs on sustainability, open science, research assessment, and equality, diversity, and inclusion. Science Europe will continue to work on these topics – and more – in 2025, together with its Member Organisations and valued partners.
