Description

An Actor-Organic Presence on stage:  The Exploration based on  Stanislavsky’s Practical Studies

Dr. Sreelatha. E

This study tries to combine the different dramatic concepts of author, focusing especially on the unique and creative style of Constantine Stanislavsky. His dramatic works gave importance to actors on stage rather than the form of the  dramatic text. He had introduced new practical methods to be followed by the actors in different  situations. The style of Stanislavsky had influenced many dramatists that brought in so many changes in the dramatic  field. A lot of changes can be found in forms, emotions, settings and concepts. The rules introduced  by Stanislavsky proved helpful for other dramatists to construct their actors in plays. The expressions of the actor are done through sound based script, symbols, body  language  and so on.We can find reflections of these dramatic  techniques  in Theatre of Root, where  the intimate interaction  between  the actor and audience  during performance is discussed. Finally this study on the dramatic art of Stanislavsky  is great relevance as more prominence is given  to  stage performances than the dramatic  literature.
