POTATO DISEASES AND METHODS OF COMBATING THEM

Currently, along with the sharp increase in the population, their need for food is also increasing. Therefore, world scientists are faced with the task of creating high-yielding, disease- and pest-resistant varieties of fruits and vegetables. This work covers the main diseases of potato crops, their causes, symptoms and negative effects. In particular, such common diseases as late blight, dry rot, blackleg and viral diseases are analyzed. Ways to combat each disease are described - based on agrotechnical, chemical, biological and preventive methods. The importance of choosing healthy seeds, observing planting dates, and integrated pest protection measures is also indicated. The information provided on this topic will serve as a useful guide for farmers, agronomists, and specialists working in the agricultural sector.
