Echoversity, an innovative participatory biodiversity conservation project in Greece.
Description
The primary goal of the project was to foster awareness among the local community regarding biodiversity conservation, emphasizing the crucial role played by mobile pastoralists as balancing factors of the ecosystem.
The project focused on four main areas:
•Biodiversity conservation along pastoral route
•Community participation in environmental stewardship
•Environmental education, using both scientific tools and traditional knowledge
•Cultural landscape preservation, recognizing the value of intangible heritage and local practices.
