Description
This study aims to examine the relationship between work passion and job satisfaction, with a particular focus on the mediating role of person–organization fit. Work passion, especially harmonious passion, has been identified as a key psychological factor that fosters positive work-related outcomes such as commitment, creativity, and well-being. However, growing empirical evidence suggests that the influence of work passion on job satisfaction may not be linear or unconditional; rather, it is shaped by contextual factors such as organizational value congruence. Person–organization fit, defined as the alignment between an employee’s personal values and the organizational culture, is proposed as a central mediator that facilitates the effective transformation of passion into satisfaction. To test the proposed model, a quantitative research approach was adopted. Data were collected through a structured survey administered to a purposive sample of 224 employees working in government-owned banks. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the relationships among the variables. The findings reveal that work passion significantly predicts job satisfaction, and this relationship is fully mediated by person–organization fit. Specifically, employees who perceive a strong alignment between their values and those of their organization experience higher levels of satisfaction, particularly when their work is driven by intrinsic passion. The study contributes to the growing field of positive organizational behavior by providing empirical support for the mediating role of person–organization fit in the passion–satisfaction link. It also offers practical implications for managers in the banking sector, emphasizing the need to create supportive environments that cultivate both personal passion and cultural alignment to enhance employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness. .
