D3.1 - Pilot Design Report

This document reports the project efforts to design the pilots that will implement and validate the ITCoS. It begins by describing the methodology used in designing the pilots, including the application of a selfassessment template with key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure design quality from the outset. It also shows how the pilots respond to the gaps identified by incorporating European values, addressing genderrelated issues, and facilitating the sharing of teaching materials to promote standardisation education across HEIs. To this end, the report describes the functionalities of the EDU4Standards Teaching Support Tool, which
serves as a central repository for instructors to share teaching materials—such as videos, case studies, lectures, and serious games—to promote the teaching of standardisation. The report further highlights the importance of using serious games in education and provides guidance for their integration into standardisation teaching.
The templates for eight pilots have been designed, amounting to a total of 236 hours of standardisation instruction delivered to diverse target audiences. These pilots will be implemented not only by universities across Europe but also by companies, engaging a wide range of educational contexts and stakeholders.

The pilots include:
• One pilot at the bachelor’s level (to be implemented by UB).
• Two pilots at the master’s level (to be implemented by TUD and TUB).
• Two extracurricular pilots (to be implemented by POLIMI and UGZ).
• Two in-company training pilots (to be implemented by TU/e and SBS – the latter being an additional pilot not included in the Grant Agreement).
• One Pan-European pilot addressing researchers of EARTO (to be implemented by FhG).

Finally, the report provides details on the conditions for the upcoming EDU4Standards.eu open call for new pilots, aiming to expand and strengthen standardisation teaching through the reuse of methodologies, resources, and best practices.
