Diagnosis. Gular sutures confluent in anterior third of length of head capsule, from confluent point prolonged ahead as one straight suture; labrum edentate, its anterior margin in middle concave; antennae short, antennae with 11 antennomeres, all antennomeres transverse, 5 clearly larger than 4 and 6, antennomeres 8–11 with sensorial appendages (phaneres), inserted on upper part and curved towards lower part of antennomeres; antennal club composed from 5 antennomeres; all tarsi with 3 tarsomeres.
Remarks. The diagnosis of Egeotyphlus was updated by Coiffait (1972).After transferring Egeotyphlus zecevici to the genus Epirotyphlus, the genus Egeotyphlus became monospecific (see remarks for Epirotyphlus).
