# Bentayga Eddy in situ Dataset (eIMPACT2 Survey)  #

## Description
This dataset contains hydrographic and velocity measurements collected during the eIMPACT2 survey in November 2022. 
The data were obtained from ship-based CTD-O and VMADCP observations in the Canary Eddy Corridor, focusing on the Bentayga intrathermocline eddy.

## Folder Structure
**01_Raw_Data/**          → Unprocessed raw files obtained directly from the instruments (CTD-O, VMADCP).  
**02_Preprocessed_Data/** → Quality-controlled data, with calibrations and initial corrections applied.  
**03_Processed_Data/**    → Data interpolated and filtered for analysis, including derived variables. These datasets allow for the reproduction of the results presented in the manuscript.

Each main folder contains the following subdirectories:
**ctdo/**   → Conductivity-Temperature-Depth-Oxygen (CTD-O) profiles.
**vmadcp/** → Vessel-Mounted Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (VMADCP) velocities.

Within each of these, the data is further categorized by survey phase:
**OceT/**    → Nearly zonal hydrographic transect sampled from November 19–28, 2022.
**SeaSoar/** → High-resolution survey conducted from November 9–14, 2022, using a towed undulating vehicle.

## Important Notes
- The processed data include interpolated fields and a subset of fundamental derived variables.
- **Higher-order derived variables**, such as dynamically inferred properties and flux-related quantities, are **not included in this dataset** but can be **reproduced using the methodology described in the manuscript**.
- **These additional computations are available upon request.**
- Users interested in additional calculations can replicate them using the methodology described in the manuscript.
