The oral mucosa is affected by various inflammatory diseases, and due to their similarity in clinical and histological features, their differentiation, especially the differential diagnostic process, can be difficult. Clinical correlation is important for diagnosis. Inflammatory diseases of the oral mucosa are pathological processes that occur due to external and internal causes. These can be mechanical injuries, chemicals, improper oral hygiene, or viral infections in the oral cavity. When inflammation occurs in the mouth, the patient experiences pain, discomfort, difficulty eating and speaking.
