Field data from forest inventory plots in the Sierra de Espadán Natural Park

Field inventory in the Sierra de Espadán measured by field experts. This dataset was obtained to characterise the vertical structure and estimate forest parameters in forest plots in the Sierra de Espadán Natural Park.

- Circular plots of 5 m radius were measured, where all tree and shrub species were identified and positioned using GNSS. 
- For tree species, diameter at breast height was measured with a caliper, maximum height and heights at the base of live and dead crowns were measured with Vertex. 
- For shrub species, crown base height, mean crown height, maximum height, largest crown diameter, smallest crown diameter and largest diameter orientation were measured with a tape measure.Field inventory in the Sierra de Espadán measured by specialist field sampling experts.
