  • 1. ROR icon University of Southern Denmark

Description

The PREP4BLUE project is a critical component of the broader Mission Ocean and Waters (hereafter ‘the Mission’ or ‘MROW 2030’) framework, aimed at restoring the health of our ocean, seas, and waters by 2030. Aligned with the European Green Deal and the Sustainable Development Goals, PREP4BLUE is designed to prepare and pilot methods and tools to support the achievement of three key objectives:

Protecting and restoring marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity

Preventing and eliminating pollution of our ocean, seas, and waters

Fostering a sustainable, carbon-neutral, and circular Blue Economy

The Mission is implemented in two phases: a development and piloting phase (2021-2025) focused on creating and testing these methods and tools, followed by a deployment and upscaling phase (2026- 2030) where these solutions will be broadly applied to achieve the Mission Ocean and Waters objectives.
