Policy Recommendations
Description
This document outlines key actions to make lifelong learning for older adults a standard practice in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), emphasising their role in fostering an inclusive and ageing-friendly society. It provides policy recommendations for HEIs and policymakers on intergenerational learning, online education, and mobility exchanges, ensuring learning opportunities are accessible, diverse, and aligned with participants' interests. Based on research and stakeholder interviews, the report offers a comprehensive framework to enhance education for older adults while promoting civic engagement and European values.
The Erasmus+60 project aimed to engage European citizens aged 60 and above in international learning, mobility, online education, and intergenerational learning, fostering inclusion and strengthening their sense of European citizenship. Led by Université de Versailles—Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, the project brought together partners from across Europe to explore how higher education institutions (HEIs) can support lifelong learning for older adults.
