Description

The GPC Web Crawler analyzes websites' compliance with Global Privacy Control (GPC) at scale. GPC is a privacy preference signal that people can use to exercise their rights to opt out from ad tracking per the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other privacy laws. The GPC Web Crawler is based on Selenium and the OptMeowt Analysis extension. The repository also contains data from three crawls of websites we performed with the GPC web crawler. It also contains privacy policy analysis data to determine whether a website sells or shares personal information per the CCPA. The software and data in this repository accompany our USENIX Security 2025 paper "Websites' Global Privacy Control Compliance at Scale and over Time," where additonal details are available.
