Description

This presentation was delivered as part of the IOAP & OIPA Webinar: Delivering Open Access for Books by Default: The Role of Community-Led Funding Models and Infrastructures”, on 24 October 2024.

In this presentation, Joe Deville considers what "by default" might mean for Open Access Books, and how best to "move from automatically closed towards automatically open" publishing. After considering the current climate in OA book publishing, Deville introduces the work of the Open Book Collective, outlining the work the charity is doing to seure non-BPC based funding for OA publishers and service providers.

Joe Deville is PI on the Open Book Futures project.
