This dataset contains the results of a parallel group randomized controlled trial comparing the effects of obesity surgery (Roux-en-Y gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy) to a low-calorie diet on body composition, glucose control, and insulin sensitivity in individuals with obesity but without diabetes.

The dataset contains sensitive personal information that has been pseudonymized but not fully anonymized according to current guidelines. The data are available from the corresponding authors upon reasonable request, subject to data sharing agreements.
