Zenodo. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10835677 Data was collected using the Infra Finder intake form instrument, available at https://zenodo.org/doi/10.5281/zenodo.10835682 DATA & FILE OVERVIEW This dataset comprises 3 files in CSV format. infrafinder_data_download_release-2.0_jan_2025.csv contains processed data collected as described in the methodological information section below. infrafinder_variable_definitions_jan_2025.csv contains a data dictionary with definitions of all variables. infrafinder_controlled_lists_jan_2025.csv contains a supplemental data dictionary with definitions for controlled lists used for certain variables. METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION The authors invited 85 participants to participate in a registry of open infrastructure services (Infra Finder). For this round of data collection, we focused on infrastructure services that enable analysis and sharing of research data, and for digital preservation and archiving. We designed a data collection instrument (questionnaire) to gather information on characteristics of open infrastructures that can help potential adopters and funders evaluate and advocate for open infrastructure services. Of the 85 services we invited, we received responses from 50 as of January 2025. The authors prefilled each infrastructure service's questionnaire with information gathered from publicly available data sources. Infrastructure services were asked to validate the pre-filled information and complete any remaining fields. Once completed, the authors performed another review against publicly available data sources and captured documentation of information provided using a web archiving service. This dataset underlies the Infra Finder application (https://infrafinder.investinopen.org) and will be periodically versioned to reflect the latest changes to Infra Finder.
