Description

Representatives of the diploid G.herbaceum L. species of cotton are resistant to pests and insects, and the fibers of the tetraploid G.mustelinum species are naturally colored, ripe and thin. Therefore, they are a valuable source for enriching the genotype of cultivated cotton varieties grown in our country. This article presents the results of cytogenetic analysis of allopolyploid forms F2C (Gossypium herbaceum subsp. frutescens × G. mustelinum). The obtained hybrid combinations determine the potential of genomic variability and provide an opportunity to select parental forms for breeding.
