Description
Welcome to the complete dataset you need to reuse and adapt the MOOC [OER102] Enhancing education through open opportunities, available on POK - Polimi Open Knowledge MOOC platform here: https://www.pok.polimi.it/course/view.php?id=158
“Open” is a different approach to education. Its focus is on sharing, improving, and reusing educational materials created by people (teachers, content experts, librarians, practitioners; sometimes students themselves are involved and not only super-experts) who are willing to let knowledge spread and be used by anyone. The intentional choice and its consequences enable others to adopt and adapt the resources and practices to their contextual needs.
This MOOC aims to help practitioners, instructional designers, teachers and librarians build on their existing knowledge and skills, thanks to reusable opportunities coming from open education examples in different fields and at different levels. It aims to inspire them with a diverse range of experiences: we invite participants to dig deeper into those examples that relate more directly to their contextual needs. After attending this MOOC, participants are invited to consider approaching and dialoguing with decision-makers to experiment with open solutions, and through them, ignite and fasten change for a better impact on shared societal challenges.
It is a great pleasure for us as a team of instructional designers and developers to know you are willing to consider reusing ad adapting our MOOC.
This is our first experience with a design process that puts reusers first: we had to make a lot of compromises and keep the templates as simple as possible to lower the need for specific expertise. We also chose to use only open formats and open software. We had to compromise here and there to create a process and a product that made the adaptation process as easy as possible.
All storyboards and videos in the dataset are in editable format. What can you do with it?
-
Once you download your copy, you can choose to download and install OpenShot video editor and open the video project files to adapt the videos to your own contextual needs.
-
Videos are shared with layers and in editable format, so you can, for example, translate and change the language of all the keywords on screen, add an audio track with your language version of the content, change the video track adding yourself or an OE expert you want to involve.
-
You can adapt all the resources, including texts, images, quizzes, exercises, and forum interaction invitations, together with the videos.
-
Ultimately, you will have a completely adapted version of the MOOC, with no hard technical skills required.
