Caveats and limitations

Both gravity and topography models were truncated at degree 180.

Crustal thickness model

The model assumes a mean crustal thickness of 25 km, and crust and mantle densities of 2900 and 3300 kg m⁻³, respectively. To mitigate errors in the downward continuation of Bouguer anomalies, we applied a minimum amplitude filter for the crust-mantle relief at degree 70. For details see Jiménez-Díaz et al. (2015).

Effective elastic thickness model (v2015)

Effective elastic thickness (Te) and internal load fraction (F) models with a spatial resolution of 1 degree, in grid (*.grd) and data table (*.xyz) formats. The effective elastic thickness model ranges from 14 (the minimum resolvable Te value in our analysis) to 94 km. For details see Jiménez-Díaz et al. (2015).
