RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT 2024

The chart visualises the development of research infrastructures in 2024. Research infrastructures were classified according to ‘type of research infrastructure’ and ‘number of research infrastructure’ per research institution. The project is part of the Austrian research infrastructure database in Austria.

Research infrastructures are vital instruments for conducting research and achieving innovation. The Austrian research infrastructure database was created in 2015 as an information platform enabling access to research infrastructures and the use of research infrastructure capacities in science, research and industry. Research infrastructures for new projects or collaborations can be found and are offered via the database. Monitoring and mapping processes for research infrastructure development have been established supporting synergies and strategy.

The Austrian research infrastructure database received the Austrian Public Sector Award in 2021 (1st place, in management and governance).
In 2024, the database was honoured by the European Public Sector Award (EPSA) with a Good Practice Certificate.
